DIY Avocado Skin Soothing Face Mask

Avocados are highly popular as a food, but did you know you can use the flesh of an avocado directly on your skin? They are filled with healthy fats, antioxidants, and Vitamin E.  Instead of throwing out overripe avocados, try making a face mask out of them!  It makes for a great, hydrating mask and its inexpensive!

This mask is great during the colder months when the skin is exposed to harsh winds and cold temperatures.  I like to do this mask at least once a week or whenever my skin is feeling dry.

Why DIY?

I like to make my own face masks for two reasons. First, I have total control over what ingredients are being used.  I don’t have to worry about things like parabans, chemicals, or preservatives.  Second, I can save money on my skincare regime.  Instead of buying face masks for hundreds of dollars I can go into my kitchen and use what I already have and get the same or similar results.

Avocado and Skincare

  • The antioxidants in an avocado can help to fight wrinkles and aid in anti-aging
  • The healthy fats help to moisturize the skin and decrease inflammation
  • The omega-9 can aid in making the skin soft and supple

Instructions
  1. Mash the avocado with the ACV and Brown rice flour. Leave slightly chunky.
  2. Apply to clean face and let sit for ten minutes
  3. Wash off with warm water and follow with serum and moisturizer.
